In our hurried life, it’s hard to slow down. This is why I’m excited to introduce The 4th Annual World Unhustle Day, a day dedicated to slowing down, reflecting, and celebrating our humanity.
World Unhustle Day is inspired by age-old traditions that honor the last full moon of the year as a time to go inward. This celestial event encourages us to reflect on our journeys, acknowledge our experiences, and cultivate gratitude. It’s a reminder that life is not just about doing; it’s not always about chasing the next goal but also about being and celebrating the present moment.
83% of U.S. workers suffer from work-related stress. The World Health Organization calls stress the biggest health epidemic of our time. Gallup states three out of four employees experience workplace burnout, at least sometimes. We’re more and more connected but more and more disconnected. The U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Vivek Murthy, says we have an epidemic of loneliness and isolation.
This is the world we live in and the future we are creating. World Unhustle Day takes Lily Tomlin’s advice: “For fast-acting relief, try slowing down.”
The pledge to celebrate World Unhustle Day is more than just a personal commitment; it’s a collective movement towards a more mindful, healthier, and productive existence.
